Gioacchino Ansuini – 3rd generation

After World War One, it was now the task of Nicola’s son, Gioacchino Ansuini, back from the front, to reactivate the family business.

He renewed the activity by creating those ancient style jewels that had made his grandfather famous, adapting them to the fashion trends coming from London and Paris introducing geometrie lines and faced cut gem stones. One of the most important achievements of the new jewelry Maison was the recreation of the Madonna of Loreto treasure, which was destroyed by a fire in 1921. The assignment arrived directly from the Vatican, 10 master goldsmiths worked continuously for 3 years and in 1924 Gioacchino delivered to the Vatican more than 500 splendid pieces of jewelry that made up the new treasure.

This accomplishment increased even further the Ansuini prestige and enabled him to prevail during the depression of the 1930s by continuing to create original and elegant style jewelry for his clients. During the World War ll the Ansuini Maison survived and in the 1950’s it’s creations were still some of the finest of Roman jewelry.
